Wild card essay Yasmine Rodriguez
It was a week before my birthday and my parents were acting really suspicious. I guess they had told my sisters as well, but I was wondering what was wrong. When days were passing and it was one day before my birthday. In the night we all got together to eat dinner when we were done they told me they had a big surprise for me so I was wondering what it was, they told me they were going to take me to Disneyland. I jumped up and started screaming. I never thought that was my big surprise, I went towards them and gave them a big hug. It was time for bed but I couldn’t go to sleep, I was so happy for next day to come.
Well it was my birthday and my parents came and woke me
up with a big hug and a cake with candles. I couldn’t wait to get ready and head over to Disneyland. When we arrived the first thing I did was
take a picture showing the entire park. The first five rides I go on
were awesome then I saw Goofy and I took a picture with him, and saw Mickey
and I also took a picture and I told him to give me an
autography. After we went to Mickey’s and Miney’s house. We ate
and won games, we got in a ride that is called Space Mountain. I got
to ride the go-cars and also got my own license, that was cool.
I bought sticker’s, Mickey‘s gloves. My
mom bought me a hat that says my own name on it. What I liked the
most was that in all the rides I got to ride on them with my mom all
day. I did get scared in one of the rides it even gave me a headache.
That was the biggest surprise that I have ever received, going to
Disneyland. It was time for us to leave, I didn’t wanted to leave but
we had to. I took a bye, bye picture before I walked out. Before
getting inside the car I gave a big hug to my parents and my sisters for
giving me the best time in my life that
was my special day at Disneyland!!!

Reading Autobiography
Reading and writing are the main strategies in my life. I can recall the many booksi read and people read to me. I remember that my mom would read to me every nightbefore going to bed. My favorite story would be "Baby Donald at the Playground". I was 3 to 5 yeas old when my mom read to me. I didn'd know how to read by then, but i knew howto pronouce some words, since i knew that storyby memory.
I would always partner read in elementary and in my house. All the class would do that when it was reading time. But one day my teacher explain to us that, that habit wasn't going to keep on going on. We would always do that for practice. I was use to reading with my partner so it was pretty difficult for me. When i got home i practice and practice all day long. So with all that practice i took, i i i becamemprove a lot, when the teacher took us the test i past it, since that moment i became an independent reader.
When i was in 4th grade my sister would read to me a story named "Rainbow Fish" i would check out that book every single time that i would go to the library. I never got tired of that book; i would also read it when i had free time in class. Another book i read during my elementary years was "Junie B. Jones" that book was awsome because it had many different chapters.
My present reading level is not bad, but not that good is just in a perfect level. I havent been tested because i just got to high school. I hope everything turns out well. I have to be focus in English subject because i want to pass that class, jet good grades and have a high reading level.
The first time my sister talked to me i was surprise. The ways she talked to me was because she doesn't want me to mess up in high school the same way she did, and then regret it. When she talked to me she really turned me on, sisnce that moment i been realy careful and into my grades. One day my councelor did the same thing and talked to me about my future.
The places i acquired books right now are in the school library. When i don't go there i just simply go to the public library. I always check out books with my library when i have an assingment that has to be done quickly. I love it because is a really peaceful place were you could concentrate.
I like to associate with reading because is good for my self. The reading level you have gets you to the future. I like reading, even for fun.

VIOLENCE ESSAY
When i was walking down the street there was olot of people in a circle and everywhere. I heard ambulances and police xars coming towards were the accidents occur. Since that noice was so loud, my cousing came running like some gossip girls. They told me that what had happen, but all i knew was nothing. Whe went and see, there was an all crushed car and all heard was that the driver was taken to the hospital. It sounded so interesting so i kept on heaing, there were children in the car but thank god nothing had happen to them. Since i was there for a long while, two police officers were coming towards me, i got so worried but i knew i handn't done anything. They told me if i had something to do with it, i rapidly responded "i was just walking down the street and saw the accident". They kept on interrogating me until the lady who came and with the guy who crushed, told the officer that i had nothing to do with it. Ihad to leave, they kept on discussing,but before i left i told the lady thanks for getting me out of the problem. There still were alot of people, also many police cars and ambulances. The town car took the crushed car away. After that i saw that many people starded to leave. When i got home my parents told me that if i had something to do with the accident because i was coming from where everything had occured. So i still kept on thinking on what had happen to the driver,if he was ok. But i bet he was ok because it wasn't a huge accident.
